1. Who we are and when these terms apply
DoctorMD is operated by DOCTORMD LLC in El Paso County, Texas. These Membership Terms of Service govern membership purchases and use of DoctorMD membership benefits. Before card registration, you must be shown the price, first charge date, service dates, renewal terms, and cancellation and refund policy and affirmatively accept them. Automatic renewal requires your express consent; visiting the website is not consent.
2. Eligibility and verification
Membership is personal and nontransferable and is for verified MD and DO physicians. The initial program serves El Paso County. We may verify your degree, medical license or training permit, identity, and, for the resident rate, current enrollment in a medical residency program. Provide accurate information and notify us if your eligibility changes. A DoctorMD badge is a community identifier, not a professional license, hospital credential, board certification, or endorsement of clinical competence.
Saving a card or making a payment does not establish verified status. If we cannot verify your eligibility, we will contact you for clarification; if your application is declined, we will cancel the scheduled first charge and future renewal and refund any membership payment in full. We will complete verification before the scheduled first charge; if eligibility remains unverified, we will stop the charge rather than bill an unverified applicant.
3. Prices, founding dates, and automatic renewal
Standard physician membership is $49 USD per year. Membership for verified physician residents is $24 USD per year. These totals include any applicable taxes. One badge and its initial United States shipping are included in the first paid annual membership. A replacement badge or a new badge each renewal is not included.
For founding registration, no membership fee is collected at signup. With your express consent, Stripe securely saves your card for an automatic first charge of $49 for the physician plan or $24 for the verified-resident plan on January 1, 2027, covering membership services from January 1 through December 31, 2027. Annual renewal is January 1, 2028, and each January 1 afterward unless you cancel. Cancel before the first charge to owe no membership fee. Stripe may describe the period before billing as a trial; membership benefits do not begin before January 1, 2027. Dates and cancellation cutoffs use El Paso, Texas local time. Your bank may show a temporary card-verification authorization; that is not a membership fee.
The resident rate continues at renewal only while current residency enrollment is verified. We may request updated confirmation. Graduation does not automatically authorize a higher charge: we will offer the $49 physician plan with advance notice and obtain your consent before changing to it. If resident eligibility cannot be verified and you do not consent to another plan, we will stop renewal rather than charge the higher rate.
We will provide an email reminder at least 30 days before annual renewal. For founding registration completed at least 30 days before January 1, 2027, we will also provide a reminder at least 30 days before the first charge; later registrants will see the date at signup and receive a confirmation before billing. Any proposed price change will be communicated at least 30 days before it could take effect, with an opportunity to cancel; a higher recurring price requires your affirmative consent. A change does not increase the price of an already paid membership term.
4. Canceling automatic renewal
You may cancel automatic renewal at any time by emailing info@doctormd.org from your membership email address. Include your name and ask to cancel renewal; do not send card numbers or medical records. No phone call or explanation is required. You may also use the self-service subscription-management link provided with your membership when available.
Your request is effective when received. Send it before the scheduled charge to prevent the first charge or a renewal. We will confirm cancellation by email. If we charge a renewal after receiving a timely cancellation request, we will refund that charge in full. Canceling before the first charge ends your reservation and stops future billing without a membership fee. After payment, canceling renewal alone does not request a refund or end your paid access: benefits continue through the paid membership period, subject to eligibility and the conduct provisions below.
5. Refund policy
Before launch: No membership fee is due before January 1, 2027 under this offer. You can cancel the scheduled first charge at no cost. If any membership fee has nevertheless been collected, a refund request received before January 1, 2027 entitles you to a full refund and cancellation of future billing.
Payments on or after launch: You may request a full refund within 14 calendar days after an initial payment or renewal charge. After that period, fees are generally not refundable solely because you did not use the benefits or changed your mind. You may still cancel future renewal. This does not limit refunds described elsewhere in these terms or rights provided by applicable law.
Email info@doctormd.org with your name and membership email to request a refund. An approved refund ends membership benefits and stops future renewal. We will initiate it to the original payment method within 10 business days; your financial institution controls when it appears in your account.
If a badge has already shipped, we will handle its return separately and provide a prepaid return method if we request its return. We will not deduct an undisclosed badge, shipping, or processing charge from a refund promised as full. Stop using the badge as proof of membership after membership ends.
6. What membership includes—and its limits
Membership provides access to the physician community, networking opportunities, a participating physician directory, and scheduling assistance through participating offices. Earlier suitable appointments may be offered when available, subject to office policies and clinical triage. Membership does not displace patients with more urgent clinical needs or guarantee an appointment, a particular clinician, treatment, referral, or health outcome.
Medical visits, imaging, tests, prescriptions, procedures, and other clinical services are billed separately by the treating provider. You remain responsible for insurance requirements, referrals, authorizations, deductibles, and other charges. Any specific discount or cash price must be confirmed directly with the participating facility before service; no universal discount or free care is promised.
DOCTORMD LLC operates the membership community. Membership does not itself establish a clinician-patient relationship, provide medical advice or treatment, or constitute health insurance. Participating clinicians retain independent clinical judgment. For an emergency, call 911 or seek emergency care; do not wait for a membership response.
7. Badge fulfillment
The initial badge is shipped after the first annual payment is confirmed and eligibility is verified to the United States shipping address you provide. The expected dispatch timeframe will be displayed before payment. Check your address and report mistakes promptly. Contact us if your badge is damaged or does not arrive so we can investigate and arrange an appropriate remedy. If we cannot meet the disclosed dispatch estimate, we will notify you, provide a revised estimate, and offer cancellation and a full refund rather than substitute an undisclosed delay.
8. Responsibilities and respectful participation
Follow our member guidelines and each office’s patient policies. Attend as a patient: share your history and questions, respect your treating clinician’s judgment, and do not issue your own treatment orders or pressure staff. Maintain a relationship with a PCP and discuss appropriate preventive care with your clinician. Give timely notice when canceling appointments.
Do not share membership, misrepresent credentials, harass staff or members, use the badge to imply privileges you do not hold, or publish another person’s private information. Participation does not require reciprocal referrals, prescribing, or endorsements. Directory inclusion is not permission to send unsolicited bulk marketing.
We may review, suspend, or end participation for material misuse, loss of eligibility, or safety concerns. Where appropriate, we will explain the concern and allow a response; urgent safety concerns may require immediate action. If we end membership, future renewal stops. If we end it without a material breach by you, we will refund the unused portion of the paid service term; suspension will not be used to avoid an otherwise applicable refund.
9. Information and communications
Provide only the information needed for membership verification, payment, and badge fulfillment. Do not send medical records, patient information, government identity documents, or card details to our general email or through checkout custom fields. Use your treating office’s secure channels for clinical information. Our payment processor handles payment information under its own privacy and service terms.
Joining does not authorize public listing of your personal contact information or publication of your membership status. Any public directory listing requires separate permission. We may send membership, verification, receipt, fulfillment, renewal, and service messages to the email you provide. These terms do not serve as consent to unrelated marketing or replace a separate privacy notice.
10. Launch delays and material changes
If the January 1, 2027 launch is delayed, we will notify founding registrants and stop the scheduled first charge. Any collected membership fees will be fully refundable. We will not move paid membership dates or renewal dates without your agreement. If the founding program is canceled before launch, scheduled charges and renewals will be canceled, and any membership payments will be refunded in full.
Individual participants and appointment availability may change. We will update the directory when we learn of changes. If a core paid benefit is permanently withdrawn, we will notify affected members and offer a refund of the unused portion of their paid term. Updated terms will be dated and communicated when material. We will not use an update to authorize undisclosed charges or reduce a refund right already earned.
11. Your rights
These terms do not waive rights or remedies that applicable law does not permit us to waive. They do not require arbitration, waive participation in a class action, or limit a treating provider’s responsibilities. Contact us first if you have a membership concern so we can try to resolve it. Texas law applies to the extent consistent with any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
